St. Mark's
"Church at the Park"

On Sunday, June 2nd, St. Mark celebrated its fourth annual Church in the Park at Murphy Park, one block from St. Mark's church.
Under beautiful blue skies, God spoke to the people through his wonderful creation of trees, plants and the super outdoors. Praise God for all He has provided!

With Jubilant Grace, St. Mark's praise band, assisting with the songs, Pastor Rod provided the Sunday message "Foundations of Rock", based on Matthew 7:24-37.

"...the rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against the house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock..."

What a wonderful message, to know that when we put our faith and trust in God, our foundation, that he will always be with us and we will be strong!

In addition to Jubilant Grace's assistance, the children also helped with the service!

With the service completed, St. Mark enjoyed each others fellowship, including a delicious BBQ, with all the fixin's!

How about a hand for our two fine BBQ'ers, Mr. Brat and Mr. Wurst!

As one can see, this group of ladies were eagerly awaiting their hot food!
With 130+ people enjoying the service and lunch, the two cooks were kept quite busy preparing and serving the food.
There was a short period of concern for this gentleman as he became entangled with the smoky results of the hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken and Barents!
In addition to the many BBQ'ed meats, everyone was treated to a fine array of salads, chips, and desserts! There was no shortage of calories on Sunday!
Now there's a happy youngster enjoying a summer tradition, the BBQ'ed hot dog.
With lunch finished, time was spent having a quiet chat...

...with family and friends.

Indeed, God provided many blessings on this beautiful spring day!

In addition to the food and fellowship, the children also took advantage of some time for some baseball and other games.
Ah, yes, Mr. Brat and Mr. Wurst finally received the chance to settle in to a quiet afternoon. Super job! See ya next year!
