Sunnyvale's Art and Wine Festival
June 1-2, 2002

The Sunnyvale Art and Wine Festival, which draws around 150,000 people each year for the weekend festival, has proven to be a super event for St. Mark to show itself to the community!

With two days of beautiful weather, many volunteers inflated balloons for the eight hours that the festival was open each day.

The opening two hours on Saturday was manned by the junior and senior youth and they did a great job inflating balloons and visiting with the kids on many of the festival streets.

In addition to handing out balloons, the children's parents were told about St. Mark's great Vacation Bible School program in July. With this year's theme being the circus, many children were excited about what fun "circus" activities were being planned.

If you're interested in the VBS program, visit the web site that provides all the exciting information and the registration form.

Over the two days, St. Mark volunteers were able to hand out hundreds of balloons, let people know what St. Mark has to offer and most importantly, spread the Gospel of Jesus.

Ah, yes, as with many balloons, this one found its way towards the sky. What a thrill it was to see so many blue balloons moving around downtown Sunnyvale. On many occasions, the parents would find our booth and exclaim, "Ah finally, we found the booth with the balloons. Our child has been seeing them all day and wanted to have one!"

With God's blessing to open the door, we now had the opportunity to spread His Word!
