The 2008 musical was probably the most complex St. Mark has attempted, with more than a dozen musical numbers, numerous dances and more actor interactions than previously tried.
To be successful, the dedicated group of "missionaries" started rehearsals in September (2/week), ending with the performances the second weekend of December. By the first week of December, the rehearsals had increased to four a week!
Under the fantastic direction of John and Cathy, the group learned new songs, pages of script and new dance numbers. As always, everyone's comfort level was pushed a bit more than prior years!
Throughout this process, the group always kept their eyes on their ultimate goal, telling the wonderful story of Christ's birth to all who attended.
Although many would consider the participants as actors, set designers, et al, they all considered themselves as missionaries spreading the Good News of God's love to all.
