At St. Mark, the celebration of Christ's birth is the opportunity to remember how God the Father brought His only son to the world to save from our sins.
Although the Christmas drama does not explicitly tell the Biblical story of Christmas and Savior's birth, it does provide the Christmas story using a contemporary story line.
The 2008 musical was the result of a dedicated group of people numbering well over 50 who not only did the acting, but made the sets, sewed the costumes, prepared the treats for visitors and ran the sound board and lights. God truly blessed St. Mark by providing so many talented and dedicated people.
This year's musical was called, "Starlight Inn!"
The story is set in a small "truck stop" cafe located off a major interstate in a fictional California border town called New Bethlehem.
As the the story begins, a Christmas party is in progress. It is at this party that we first meet the newlyweds, Joe and Mary.
Joe has a story to tell about how he and Mary were drawn to New Bethlehem at the foot of the High Sierras.
Joe, wanting to share his good fortune, starts rolling out the many events that have occurred over the last several weeks prior to Christmas.
Over the course of the musical, the true Christmas story becomes apparent through the story being told by Joe.
