St. Mark's 2007 Christmas Performance

For St. Mark, the celebration of Christ's birthday is an annual highlight.

While many in the world do not know the true meaning of Christmas, St. Mark celebrates our Savior's birthday in many ways, including its Christmas drama.

This year's musical was called "Trees", with the location being a Christmas tree lot where people with various backgrounds come to purchase their Christmas tree.

The story centers on a young lady who is having self-doubts and is searching for the true meaning of Christmas.

Not helping matters, two "bell ringing" santas cause even more confusion as they base their Christmas tree selection on chance by playing "rock, papers, scissors", flipping a coin and other means.

What continues to be lost to the santas as the lady, is the true meaning of Christmas and the need to make a choice.

Does one continue to base their decisions on chance or other earthly means, or does one trust in God for what He provides?

"Finding Christmas" was a difficult task for all as they struggled to find the true meaning.

As the play progressed, the true Christmas story was told through music and dialogue Although pretty trees, presents and other material things are fun, they are not the true Christmas story.

Mary's miraculous birth of Christ in Bethlehem, surrounded by animals and later joined by the shepherds from a local field was then told.

For all who believe in Christ as their Savior, the Christmas story is a wonderful reminder of what God in His infinite love has done for them.

St. Mark's prayers are that all will one day accept Christ as their Savior and enter into a relationship that cannot be surpassed and one that leads to eternal life in heaven.
