Living Nativity 2005 Performances

Barrie and Tink Introduced Many Scenes

The 2005 Living Nativity was titled, "Christmas -- Lost and Found and was lightly based off the Peter Pan story.

The story opens in the Darling house with the happy anticipation of the Darling children busily preparing for Christmas.

George, the children's father, is more concerned over the Christmas party, then the true meaning of Christmas and being with his children.

George and Mary Sing, "Mary Did You Know"

This preparation is in sharp contrast with the women who are seemingly overwhelmed by the enormous number of tasks required for the "Holiday Season."

Peter Pan, not understanding what Christmas is, appears and announces that he has come to take "a bit of Christmas" home with him to Neverland.

Hook and Smee Discuss How to Steal Christmas

As the children explain to him that this is impossible, we are greeted by the notorious Cap'n Hook who explains to Smee and the pirates that they are going to steal Christmas.

He believes this can be done by simply stealing the Darling's Christmas presents.

George and Mary Darling, after a brief exchange with Peter in the nursery, leave home to meet with George's employer.

But before they leave, George overhears a conversation between Peter and Wendy in which Wendy's explanation of the true meaning of Christmas is becoming more clear to Peter.

Troubled by what he hears, George begins to reflect on his own personal priorities. After talking it over with Mary, they resolve to go home and spend Christmas Eve with their children.

Hook's Helpers Join in the Plan to Steal Christmas

Meanwhile, Hook and company, have made their way to the Darling home.

Just missing Santa and Nana distributing "a little good will", the pirates steal away into the Darling living room to "steal the presents."

Santa and Nana Spread a Little Good Will

A very confused Peter Pan, with "fatherly" help from George, learns the true meaning of Christmas as George reads the "Nativity Story" from the Book of Luke.

Peter, along with all the Darling children, are amazed at what God has done by sending his son, Jesus, although they do think it a "bit strange" that someone so important would be born in a manger.

Smee Reads the Note from Wendy to Hook

Wendy, left a note and a present for Hook and Smee, explaining that they could steal the presents, but that it would be impossible for them to steal Christmas as Christ's birth was the true meaning of Christmas.

Finally, as Hook, Smee and the pirates are leaving the Darling house, Hook begins to realize what Wendy was saying in the letter and offered his gun to her as a peaceful gift.

Although short-lived when he hears Peter in the midst, Hook leaves in peace to reflect on all that he had heard.
